St. Francis de Sales Hospital

Port-au-Prince, Haiti

The majority of the hospital’s facilities were destroyed in the earthquake that shook Haiti in January 2010. With financial and administrative support from Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the campus was rebuilt on the same site, redeveloping it into a state-of-the-art international teaching hospital serving the University of Notre Dame, Haiti. When asked to assist, Msaada Architects were on the ground within one week of the earthquake leading the design efforts and supervising the re-building efforts until January 2015. Established in 1881, this national hospital now includes 200 beds and facilities for labor & delivery, newborn & pediatric, medical / surgical and pre and post-operative functions.
