Step One: Design

Our first priority is to understand and articulate a project’s goals as envisioned by the client, intended users and funding partners. We visit the selected project location and through interactive design sessions with users, create a design concept that meets the project goals. Our planning process includes producing documents useful to the client in raising funds including a realistic schedule and cost estimate. If appropriate, we will also discuss the project with local builders to review material availability in order to maximize the value of the project’s investment.

Design services could include the following:

• Site analysis including review of local zoning, utility and survey information.

• Development of a Program of Need articulating the specific spaces required in the project.

• Master Planning for a campus of multiple buildings and amenities.

• Preliminary design drawings including floor plans, elevations and three-dimensional images.

• Local material research and discussion with area builders for availability of construction equipment and labor necessary for project completion.

• Development of a construction cost estimation and schedule.

• Compilation of the above information into a written Case Study for use by the client in seeking funds.

Step Two: Define

Once project funding is obtained, Msaada is ready to create full construction documents necessary for tendering and construction. Unlike some volunteer organizations assisting the developing world, Msaada offers full professional Architectural and Engineering services necessary for the successful completion of your project. Whether produced by Msaada USA or through our associated offices worldwide, each set of Detail Drawings focus on our mission of designing sustainable and relevant architecture for the Developing World.

Define services include the following:

Step Three: Develop

Many projects in the Developing World languish because of lack of leadership or experience in how to finish. Msaada has proven experience in tendering, contract negotiation and construction coordination. Our goal is to ensure that the high quality of construction captured in the Detail Drawings are realized during construction. Whether construction is by local contractors, labor contracts or even volunteer builders, Msaada can guide your project to successful completion.

Develop services include the following:

• Tender solicitation and review.

• Contractor recommendations and negotiations.

• Coordination between the Client, Contractor and Funding Organization.

• Supervision of construction progress and quality through site visits and field reports.

• Review of final project completion to ensure goals have been met and project is successful.
