One of the largest churches in Haiti, the former church building for the Parish of Sacre Coeur was destroyed in the earthquake that shook Haiti in January 2010. Funded in collaboration between the parish with support by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, this project is for the reconstruction of the church building on the same site. The design of the new building, featuring glue-laminated wood arches in the sanctuary for seismic stability, recalls much of the architectural language of the former building. The project is currently being tendered by local contractors.
