MSAADA’s first work in Malawi began when a large congregation in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota wanted to support a project for their partner in ministry in Malawi in partnership with World Relief Malawi.  Thus, MSAADA provided full architectural and engineering (A/E) services for a project to build eight village community centers, a related education center, and extension to a primary school (all in northern Malawi), as well as building an administrative center in the capital city of Lilongwe. The A/E construction supervision/observation was handled by a local Clerk of Works having long distance e-mail support from MSAADA’s home office in Minneapolis.

As an outgrowth of that project, the Clerk of Works moved on to become a building contractor, and one of the projects he has done is a Methodist church in Mzuzu (built by support from a Methodist congregation in South Carolina), for which MSAADA also provided design services.
