St. Timothy Lutheran Church, within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Central African Republic (ELCCAR), is truly a structure of hope in the midst of tragedy. Tim Olson, an aspiring architect, volunteered to supervise construction of the church. Before his work was done, Tim was murdered by a group of bandits. The community honored Tim’s service and life by naming the church after him. Tim’s parents, Gordon and Betty Olson, have since dedicated their lives to continuing Tim’s service through founding the organization Lutheran Partners in Global Mission (LPGM). Despite the turmoil and violence that plagues the CAR, LPGM continues to support efforts at St. Timothy and in the surrounding area. LPGM recently opened a new dispensary clinic in Gallo, CAR designed by MSAADA.
